The MontEO team participated in the vEGU21, the virtual format of the European Geosciences Union General Assembly that took place from 19th to 30th of April. Lorena Abad presented a study on “Road Construction and Rainfall as Landslide Triggers in the Rio Lucma Catchment, Eastern Cordillera Blanca, Peru”. Florian Albrecht gave a vPICO presentation entitled “Qualitative analysis of the impact of mass movements on the alpine hiking infrastructure”. Our guest researcher Helen Dias from the SPAMLab of the University of Sao Paolo, Brazil, presented her work on “Shallow landslide mapping using freely accessible images: a case study in the Ribeira Valley, Brazil”. The vEGU21 – as the largest Geosciences conference in Europe – allowed us to share and discuss research findings with an international community.
