In mid of October, the MontEO team visited the study areas in the Großarl and Kleinarl Valleys. We collected field reference data such as GPS measurements, field photographs and UAV data. Furthermore, we identified sections of hiking trails that have been affected by mass movements in the past and compared this to previous assessments. Moreover, we discussed the impact of mass movements with locals. Our team was accompanied by cooperation partners from the Department of Earth Science of the University of Bergen, Norway, who supported us in the field with their expertise in remote sensing and landslide research.
